Everyone needs an "Angel After Dark"!

“Angel After Dark” By Kahlen Aymes

Review by Wendy Dawn

“In Summation”:

Dr. Angeline Hemming is a beautiful, sassy, no-nonsense type of girl who has risen from a difficult past to become one of Chicago’s most successful and respected criminal profilers. In exchange for free commercials to promote her favorite charitable causes, Angel answers calls and gives relationship advice on a Friday night radio program.

Alexander Avery is a gorgeous and successful corporate genius who doesn’t believe in love. When his girlfriend-of-convenience calls into Angel’s program, he is furious with the show’s host who doles out (what he considers) blind advice, without knowing all the facts… and he decides to give her a piece of his mind, and his side of the story!

When Angel informs Alex he’s the one in need of a much-deserved lesson, all hell breaks loose as these two type-A personalities battle it out for control over minds and hearts, and yes, in bed. Not only are they fighting each other at every turn, but they are also struggling to uphold the convictions they each live by.

It’s unclear who is stronger, but both must discover that to get what they desperately want, they may have to give a little… or a lot.

“The Reviews are in”:

A fun read filled with humor and wit. This is a well-written novel. The two main characters that have dominate personalities. The quick wit will draw you in, but the intensity of their desire for each other will keep you reading.

Angel is an intriguing character. She is a professional and respected in her career. Burying her past deep down, she has had to struggle to overcome so many issues that have made her the strong woman she is today.
She has no time or desire for love. Every relationship has purpose and position in her life, even the intimate relationships.

“Sex is sex,” she shrugged. “I’m not a prude. Physical release is part of being healthy on many levels. Men aren’t the only ones that can leave emotion at the door for some gold old fashioned bump and grind.” She bit her lower lip, trying to hide a smile at the shocked look on his face. “When I need it, I have… options.”   ~Angel discussing sex with her radio show producer

In an exchange for public service announcements Angel takes the job as a radio psychologist. Along the way, she hears from many foolish and naive women who need her strait forward advice and outlook. One caller takes some of her advice and the man causing her pain wants his side heard.
When Alex calls to talk about how his now former relationship really was just a mutual agreement, like a business transaction, a debate begins between the two.
“Are you going to tell me everything has to be hearts and roses? That no woman can have sex, for sex alone? If so, it’s a great disservice that you’re doing to your own sex. Or, is that just how you are?” he challenged and his voice dropped tow decibels. “Do you get all moist and gooey, Angel?”   ~Alex discussing his ‘relationship arrangements’ on air with Angel

Both Alex and Angel have no desire for anything permanent, but can meeting each other be a great idea. Angel’s boss and Alex’s friend, Darian thinks it’s a great idea. He proceeds to throw them together, knowing they will be perfect for each other. Together they find a relationship challenging but just what the doctor ordered.
The physical attraction is so hot, thick and sizzling it melts the pages!

“I’d be lying if I said I haven’t fantasized about it ever since I heard your voice the first time. Even without at visual, I was fascinated by just the thought of you, imagining how you’d feel under me and having you moan my name as you came.” Alex smiled when she gasped. If she was goin to cut to the chase, so was he. “I can sense that you are just as fascinated. This thing between us is stronger than I’ve ever experienced. And yes, I’m dying to know how it would feel to be with you. But…”   ~Alex replying to Angel after she asks him if he wants her

These two characters are steamy! The sex scenes hot beyond fire!
There is intrigue and desire, romance and wit…a great combination that will have you wanting more and more from this author!
